Bride declares wedding “boring”, regrets flower decorations

Citing hangover-clarity, recent bride announces anger at family, in-laws and guests. “If I had known they would so brazenly pile through the buffet and alcohol, I would have spent less money and effort on making sure it looked good and tasted good. You could’ve served these people cold toast and stale beer”.
In an text-messaged conversation from Mallorca, the bride also regrets the expensive flower arrangements that were left to wilt when she and her new husband flew to Spain. Sociologists see this is part of a growing “morning-after” trend. Professor Stanley Rubrik says, “More and more often we are seeing brides feeling depression and regret following the big wedding party. Partly to blame is the growing wedding industry promising brides ‘the best day of their lives’. Many see the day after as the first day of a life of compromise and boredom”.

The organisation for Promulgating the Excessive Wedding Culture, however, wants to fire back. Says spokesman Harold Newbecker “Just because a few people are too tired to recognise the importance of the event, does not, in any case mean that the solution is scaled back weddings. We recommend, rather, a multi-day event, so that the true impact of the decision can be felt and rejoiced.”
The disgruntled bride does not seem to be convinced. “Next time,” she writes “I’m thinking of eloping”.
